The 2017 Betting on Football Conference featured presentations on deeper data, more mobile, better personalization and eSports.

Solid job once again by the SBC team. The setting at Stamford Bridge was outstanding.

Our take-aways:

1. Mobile still dominates the ‘opportunity’ conversation, in Europe and Africa. But new technologies like voice command are making waves.

2. Despite terrific advances in operator technology over the past few years, punters are expecting better personalization than they get today from operators.

In the US, we’re seeing interesting intersections of American football and social media. That said, US sports betting has a long way to go to catch up with European operators.

3. eSports continues to grow as a hot topic in the industry.

Bonus: Technology is great. Human connection, even better.
