The ICE Totally Gaming conference 2017 featured a lot of interesting conversations for Chalkline–completely focused on sports betting and digital marketing. Because the models and markets that we’re focused on continue to evolve, it was a great conference to attend. Even if you’re in London in February.

1. Great job by the ICE team.

From the minute we walked in, to the minute we left…well, we never left our feet. It was a great, full week of networking.

Congrats to the ICE team for another great experience.

2. USA Sports Betting was a hot topic.

We were pleased to participate in the session on ‘Sports Betting in the USA,’ enjoyed our conversations with Geoff Freeman of the American Gaming Association. Because many European operators are looking to the US as a growth opportunity, it may continue to be a central discussion topic through next year.

One topic that came up repeatedly: IF sports betting becomes legal in the United States, it will likely roll out through existing regulatory infrastructure, creating opportunities for casinos and tracks, which is, of course, exciting for Chalkline, based on our experiences.

3. Punters expect better personalization NOW.

It’s a topic that just keeps coming up. Because mobile users spend 85% of their time in apps…like FacebookSnapchatTwitterSlackWhatsApp and WeChat, it’s what our industry’s customer expect. Our industry’s products must keep pace.
