Three Take-aways from ICE 2018: Sports Betting in the USA and ICE Africa

Given the pace of innovation around in-play, mobile and personalization, we’re already looking forward to ICE 2019.

We took a moment to reflect on what we gleaned from ICE 2018 from both African and North American points of view.

Key Take-aways for ICE Africa

ICE Africa Conference 2018

#1: Africa is a growing part of the conversation at ICE, and across the gaming industry.

For starters, we're excited about the formal announcement of ICE Africa for October 2018, adding to a great roster of conferences on the continent.

#2: Growth prospects for Africa are positive due to several tailwinds.

Declining costs of mobile devices and data, plus increasing interest from telecom and media companies will drive growth in this World Cup year.

#3: A key industry theme at ICE and the London Affiliate Conference is the importance of keeping it simple.

We've always been advocates for this approach, and have baked it into our F2P BettorGames and Real Money product offerings.

Key Take-aways for Sports Betting in the USA

Active US Sports Betting Legislation

#1: Despite the European setting, the ever-increasing regulatory push in the United States is one of the hotter topics of conversation in the industry.

ICEVOX's Sports Betting USA track made us feel right at home. Lots to consider as the US Supreme Court decision on PASPA draws closer.

#2: If the US does regulate sports betting and you're an operator rolling out new products: KISS (Keep It Simple...)!

Again, we take this to heart in all of our products for operators and affiliates: BettorGames, BetAssist, BettorBI.

#3: The New Jersey Department of Gaming Enforcement seems to be looking globally when it comes to building a regulatory framework for New Jersey.

We're cautiously optimistic that we'll get the best of American gaming with critical experience sharing from regulated operators across the globe.

Can't wait for ICE 2019!
